Perplexity: finding and checking information, in Luxembourg.

Perplexity training in Luxembourg completes the AI training programme of AIxH, approved as a continuing vocational training organisation by the Ministry of the Economy (no. 10156897/1). This page covers the Perplexity module only; everything else (formats, prices, co-funding) is on the AI training & upskilling page.

Perplexity queries the web in real time for every question, then builds an answer in which each statement points back to its source, instead of a list of links to explore or a text with no evidence behind it. Within the programme, it is the tool for verifiable information: sector monitoring, preparing a meeting, a quick answer to a factual question. The module then goes beyond the one-off question, all the way to monitoring that runs by itself and to the Comet browser, which carries out the search for you.

Programme

What does the Perplexity training module cover?

The common core (how LLMs work, prompt engineering, ethics and governance, GDPR included) is presented on the programme page. The Perplexity module deals with the uses below, practised on the searches participants actually have to carry out, from the direct question to automated monitoring.

A search engine more than a conversation

Alongside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Mistral, which generate text from what they already know, Perplexity works the other way round: it goes and finds the information before answering. That explains its place in the programme, closer to documentary research than to writing.

Replacing a conventional web search

Moving from a keyword search and ten open tabs to a direct question with a concise answer and verifiable sources. The search can be narrowed precisely: academic sources or press, a specific site, a period, a language. Exercises on topics brought by the participants: regulation, market, competition.

Deep Research: dozens of sources in one report

Deep Research mode reads and cross-checks up to 200 sources on a question, then delivers a structured, sourced report. A preliminary market study or a literature review is ready in a few minutes; critical review of the result remains part of the workshop.

Organising monitoring with Spaces

A Space gathers the searches on a topic followed over time (a sector, a competitor, a regulation), with its own instructions, and can be shared with the team. Searches can also be restricted to an internal document base to query your own files.

Scheduled tasks and alerts: monitoring that runs by itself

Perplexity runs recurring searches automatically, turns them into sourced summaries and sends an alert as soon as new content appears in the sources being followed. The workshop sets up a first live monitoring task for each participant.

Checking information before publishing it

Tracing a figure or a claim back to its origin through the cited sources before it goes into a document, a sales proposal or an external communication. What the tool checks, what it does not check, and how to read a citation with a critical eye.

Several models in a single subscription

Perplexity gives access to models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI from the same interface: one model's answer can be compared with another's on the same question, without multiplying subscriptions. A good vantage point for choosing your tools.

Comet: the browser that carries out the search

Comet, Perplexity's browser, turns a search into an action: comparing train tickets down to the best option, or completing an online procedure step by step. The demonstration is based on a real case from the participants.

Who it is for

Who is the Perplexity training for?

The roles that do regular factual research get the most out of it: marketing and communications (competitive monitoring), sales (meeting preparation), management (market review), legal and compliance (regulatory tracking). The only prerequisite is a live search to carry out during the workshop.

Formats and prices

In which formats is the Perplexity training available?

The Perplexity module runs in the same formats as the rest of the programme: half day, full day, in-house or conference talk. Prices and co-funding are detailed on the AI training & upskilling page.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Perplexity training

What is the difference between Perplexity and a standard Google search?

Google returns a list of links to read through yourself. Perplexity queries the web and builds a concise answer directly, with a cited source for every statement, which changes how you verify: no more comparing several pages by hand.

Does Perplexity replace ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Mistral?

No, it complements them. The other tools in the programme are better suited to writing and content production, Perplexity to verifiable research and monitoring; its subscription also gives access to several of those models from the same interface. Many teams switch from one to the other in the course of a single piece of work.

Is a paid subscription needed to attend the Perplexity training?

For a one-off search, the free version does the job. Regular team use, with shared searches, does justify a paid subscription: the right plan is defined with the team before the session.

What is Perplexity's Deep Research?

A mode that reads and cross-checks up to 200 sources on a single question, then delivers a structured report in which every statement remains sourced. The workshop applies it to a real research topic from the participants, critical review included.

Can automatic monitoring be scheduled with Perplexity?

Yes: recurring searches run on their own, produce sourced summaries and trigger an alert when new content appears in the sources being followed. The training sets up a first monitoring task during the session.

Is company data hosted in Europe?

No, Perplexity's infrastructure is American. The training takes that into account: what can be queried safely, and what should never be entered as personal or confidential data.

Can Perplexity be used for regular competitive monitoring?

Yes, it is one of the most directly profitable uses of the tool. The workshop shows how to organise ongoing tracking of a sector or a competitor, instead of a one-off search to redo every time.

Is the Perplexity training eligible for the same co-funding as the general AI training?

Yes, this module follows the programme's common co-funding rules, detailed on the AI training & upskilling page.
